Finding Fudduni:
A DIGITAL ARCHIVE
This digital archive hosts the stories of Petro Fudduni (also known as Pietro Fullone), the most popular Sicilian folk poet of the 17th century. Although some of Fudduni’s tales were transcribed and republished in the 20th century, the majority of his work survives only in the oral folk tradition and particularly in the memory of Sicilian-speaking people and elders. Drawing from ethnographic material and a collection of secondary resources we have created this archive to revive and valorise this endangered cultural heritage.
